galen/wes, et al.: epfdview has no issues printing to the color laserjet. It worked fine. So far, it's only xpdf that gives me problems. I'll try an application like GRASS or R and see what they do. With alternate pdf viewers not xpdf printing to the color printer is no big deal, but it is an interesting conundrum. Just tried mupdf. Talk about minimal! I had to download the "manual" (a few lines of the functions it knows) to figure out how to page forward and back, and to quit. Wonder what its niche is.
