wes, Interesting thesis. I've had only HP printers since I started with linux: a 4L, 5, Professional Series 2500C, and now the CLJ 2550L. The first three had no problems printing from lpr with the default CUPS installation. There is a PDF-CUPS definition that I've not used before. I'll give that a try and see what, if anything, happens.
