Hi Problem solved.
Bad Burns.. I burned a Ubuntu 10.8 here.. Got the same issue as Mint. Boot to a log in screen.. Found a commercial copy of 10.4 ubuntu. It booted and is installing fine. So for some reason the copy burned at Clinic and the copy I burned at home were both unreadable by my CD reader....... How strange..... If someone want to send me a sources list for Mint I will replace the source list and do update and upgrade on that.. Should work?? TIA Marvin PS.. Special thanks to JJJ and Clinic folks..
