For a start, I will set up a proxy/caching server with an RH 6.2 O.S.
Should I make these
 partitions:
Note: I have two separate 9 GBs and i have partition it with these
 sda11 512Mb for the root /
 sda1 15 Mb for /boot
sdb1 8.7Gb grow to fill disk for the /cache (is this
 advisable?)
 sda9 256 Mb for /chroot ( must i have this partition?)
 sda5 2 Gb for /home
 sda10 256 Mb for /tmp
 sda6 4 Gb for /usr ( what's this compared to /home?)
 sda7 512 Mb for /var

What should partition should I give priority? /cache or /var?

For a proxy server, would this partitions and their sizes be enough?

 any suggestions?
