i do not think you will need this directory. i do not know the use of it.

hmmm. make the /var a little larger to handle more logs..or..you can move
the squid logs to the /cache directory. be wary of this because these
squid logs tend to really GROW!

/cache of course and move your cache directory in the squid.conf to use
