good day pluggers,
before the problem a little kwento muna. before i was using a
linux mandarke 6.5 and i have another os Windows 98. everything
was fine i can boot to either of the two. i only use windows for
my gaming purposes and the rest of job here at work in mandrake.
then one day, a friend of mine recommended that slackware has a
new release which is slackware 7.1 and that it was more powerful
than all the other linux flavors. so i installed this new version
and this is where the problem begun. the first problem encountered
was Windows 98 woun't boot but i tried to fix it nothing happens
still doesn't boot so i let it be that. after a week or so,
linux doesn't boot anymore. i boot at floppy a and tried to fix it
for what happened, i looked at the lilo.conf its still the same.
i tried to reinstall lilo but the same result. now i coun'd boot on
either of the two. since i have two harddisk in my machine, hda linux
and hdb windows, i made hdb as the prime disk and hda a slave. now
i can boot on windows but not on linux. at windows i used f secure to
connect with other machine in order to do my work. i am planning to
to reinstall linux again but what should i install the previous or
the new one? another thing is there another way aside from
reinstalling to get my linux working again. o by the way here is my
lilo.conf if your wondering whats in it.
boot=/dev/hda
map=/boot/map
install=/boot/boot.b
prompt
timeout=50
other=/dev/hdb
label=WINDOWS
read-only
image=/boot/vmlinuz
label=LINUX
root=/dev/hda1
read-only
thanks in advance.
