RedHat 7.0 recommends maximum 16MB of /boot. I don't know with other
distributions if it's applicable.
compaq.com recommends 30MB to 60MB partition for /boot if you're using
Red Hat 6.2 .
Note:
1. /boot needs to be a primary partition (partition #'s 1-4). /boot cannot
be a logical drive, (partition #5 or higher).
2. /boot should be marked active.
3. /boot needs to be below the 1024 cylinder limit.
4. All other Linux partitions, including swap, can reside in the extended
partition as logical drives, partition 5 and above.
