IMO, it's not that bad in PLUG because subscribers are mostly IT
professionals using linux to get the job done. It's quite different if
you're asking someone else to write a C program for you so you can pass it
to your professor as your own work.

Usenet whether accessed via a newsreader or Google Groups (formerly
dejanews) is a great resource. It's a shame more people don't know about it.
