you have a very good point. here and to address it i believe that mysql is
stable enough to handle a humongous amount of concurrent user accesses
given sufficient hardware.
in terms of replication, if IMAP information can be stored in an LDAP
repository then things are way simpler. but wait...it can. of course, the
address book problem still remains. yeech.

you are very correct. the HORDE team have very strict coding standards. i
read thru it in their CVS repository. of course, doing so will entail that
the redirection to different IMP machines would be manual? ..or.. add a
field to the user table. the problem with this is the clean and
generic-ness(pardon the randomly generated jargon) of the application will
be compromised. but for a custom solution it would make a good hack.

yup. i notice that the student mail server has blazing fast logons and
usage as compared to the traditional mail servers. this is a good reason
to migrate diba???
