I think you have to configure your resolv.conf file and add your DNS
resolv.conf
nameserver xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
nameserver xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
where xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is the ip address of your dns server
also check if your linux firewall allows you to access web.

Did you setup samba? though i myself did not test samba yet... so on this
part i will be of no much help.
