The FreeBSD developers have the answer for this. Linux *does* have better
hardware support.. on the DESKTOP. Why bother to support Joe Luser's
Dickless WinModem (as Linux does) when the effort can go to
enterprise-level support for enterprise-class hardware?
You people may be running bits of FreeBSD without knowing it. The Linux
aic7xxx driver is straight from FreeBSD. Among many other things.
