I think you have to recompile the kernel. "cd /usr/src/linux"

make menuconfig

Processor type and features  ---> Maximum Physical Memory

chose 2GB. Save and exit.

make dep ; make clean ; make bzImage
                       (in Mandrake you can do "make install" instead)
