convert ps to pdf sucks big time. i suggest you do not go this way. and
using dvipdf also sucks big time. i use dvipdfm (note the additional m.
this was only recently included in tetex).
and yes my pdf files look good under windows. at least, good enough for
me. i do not have time to play around with the fonts and this is the
reason why i resort to using dvipdfm.

what an endeavor! ACENT is trying keep documentation and presentation in
LaTeX. i write my class material in LaTeX too. this is because it is
easier to convert LaTeX to something than the other way around. btw,
latex2html is so cool kasi for courseware stuff that need to be posted
in a website.
