It isn't pretty, friends. But here's what I've done.
I would rather get this doc out and worry about fonts at another time.
Soo...I moved the whole rendering process into Windows.
I processed the original html doc with HTMLDOC 1.7 which is under the
GNU/GPL. The rendering is, no surprisingly since it has access to the
TTFs, fabulous - viewed or printed on Windows or Linux. Had I used
PDFLaTeX under Windows, I'm sure it would have done just as well.
When I look at the doc info - it lists the encoding as "Windows."
I didn't study the raw file, but two pages is 6k, smaller than any of the
other files I created from Linux. So, it did the job quite well.
I'm sure that I can do this with LaTeX and the TTF's under Linux. Now is
just not the time.
