another way is to write the info to a CDR. by not fixating the CDR (-nofix
option to cdrecord) you can write track-per-track. Mkisofs the sums, write
it to the disk. You can use a single CDR many many times, then fixate at
the end for safekeeping.
I'm not sure though how hard it is to mount a multiple-data-track ISO9660
CD though.
