I first bought an Athlon sometime last year, and
so far it hasn't let me down. It performs quite nicely
even with low memory (32 MB), though the only complaint
I have on it is it get's too hot over time (when I was
still into computer games for half a day straight, I
can really feel the heat radiating out of my box).

Now it runs with 320MB RAM and it was onced used as
our company server for half a year (before I hauled
it out for my own use last semester then replaced it
with another PC there). We were just lucky that we didn't
need to tinker it too much to make it work fine. Though
it never let us down, the biggest downer is that it took
us lots of fans and an airconditioning unit set at the
max always to prevent it from heating up too much that
you'd feel it when you're sitting in front of the server.

I'm not from AMD, and I won't make you an AMD convert
either... I still feel the heat whenever I leave the
PC on for the whole night as it compiles a kernel or
gcc; or after 5 straight hours of playing Myth II.
