Thanks for numerous responses... more detailed than what I thought... coz I was really looking for 'what works and what does not work well' on Linux + the current state of gaming ware since my PC's have always been setup for work and simple games. (I was never into 3D games)
Now that my brother has discovered PC games (dati PS lang), well, I have to cater to his needs :) So, it seems that GeForce is *the uso* card? But they don't support Linux well? I don't need to do 3D under Linux, just decent 2D acceleration for X. For sound, I'm not really familiar with the state of the art either, but I will be using the Linux sound system just for music... _ Philippine Linux Users Group.
