Boss, Guile gives relatively unhelpful error messages because it's meant to be an embeddable language, meaning you can embed a Scheme interpreter into any program easily (although in my experience, due to lack of documentation this is not as easy as advertised). Other Scheme interpreters I've tried: QScheme: http://www.sof.ch/dan/qscheme/index-e.html KSM-Scheme: http://square.umin.ac.jp/~hchang/ksm/ Scheme 48: http://s48.org/ Bigloo: http://kaolin.unice.fr/bigloo/bigloo.html You can also try the umb-scheme interpreter that's available with RH7.1. There should be an RPM there somewhere. The CMU AI Repository at http://www.cs.cmu.edu/afs/cs/project/ai-repository/ai/lang/scheme/impl/0.html has loads of Scheme implementations you can try. Some are really old though... http://www.schemers.org/ is another site to visit. All hail ye Knights of the Lambda Calculus! :) -- Rafael R.
