well, climate studies are not too "ivory tower" granted that if we screw up,
we'll be raining acid or snow :(

I wonder if there are problems that are significant to the Philippines that
can be solved with a good combo of free software + CS skills in writing good
programs.  This can prove that free software is not just a 'techies toy.'
