Bluetooth is for wireless communication. It's a standard, very similar to
wireless LAN but instead of computers talking to each other your device
talks with each other.

Like if you have a laptop, a PDA on your pocket, and a cellphone in your
hand, with blue tooth, you can sync them all without actually connecting
them. That's the good thing. "Personal" Area Network I think would best
describe it.
