This is a Filipino mailing list Rick :-) What I've noticed is what we
might consider a reasonable discussion will make all the Filipinos in
the room back off and wonder when we're going to kill each other :-)
I couldn't understand at first why, in Filipino chat areas, people kept
asking me why I was "always fighting".
I like your answer: try and compare for yourself. It is the only rational
approach.
