Yes, or else stuff like ftp client access will not work. Only the well known ports are blocked (a list of which i don't have..) The reason for this is twofold - 1. A residential internet service should not be able to provide well known services. Its not part of the service that these users pay for. 2. With the advent of portscanning viruses like CodeRed, etc., which target port 80 (and most of the time fail anyway on residential internet access IP subnets), the internal HFC network could do without the additional useless probing traffic. _ Philippine Linux Users Group.
