University of Waterloo, maker of the famous Watcom C compiler,
is getting research grants worth $2.3M (US?) from Microsoft Canada.

No, Microsoft is not buying the Watcom C compiler to improve its
own Visual C++, but instead is requiring all students of the E&CE
programs to take the C# programming course instead of the 
traditional C++ E&CE-150 course.  Talk about arm-twisting!
