In case it will help: I have a file archive (for the public) of pretty much all open-source applications for PalmOS, including all open-source sync tools for other operating systems, here: http://linuxmafia.com/pub/palmos/ Each directory of that tree has an "00index.txt" catalogue file. (Yeah, I know, it's a little pathetic. Some day, I intend to replace that with a proper HTML front-end.) Each entry's files are locally hosted _on_ my machine (not just pointed to, elsewhere), and both PalmOS binaries and source code are included for everything. > To back up your Palm into your Linux box, you need to give the command > pilot-xfer --backup /home/yourhomedirectory/palmdata/ You can actually abbreviate --backup to just -b. In addition, -u (for update) is almost always what you really want, not -b. (You want to back up only what's changed.) In the same way, "pilot-xfer --install" can be shortened to "pilot-xfer -i". > 2. If you have a USB cradle, the situation is more complicated. I hear that the "coldsync" utility is best used for USB PalmOS devices, in preference to the Pilot-Link utilities (which include pilot-xfer). But I'm a coward about these things, and so stick to serial. ;-> -- Cheers, "He was clearly a man of many qualities, even if most of them Rick Moen were bad ones." -- Douglas Adams, describing Zaphod Beeblebrox [EMAIL PROTECTED] _ Philippine Linux Users Group.
