Hmmm. I'm using Solaris 8 but the format(1M) command won't accept H>27! is there another way of labeling the drive? .. > Well you have 2 options, I dunno if this will help you since i'm > not familliar with the product Promise RM8000. These won't work. The Promise RM8000 contains 8x Promise PDC20267 ATA controller and an Intel i960 processor. Basically you plug 8 IDE hard drives into it, and configure it either via front-panel LCD or through a serial console (e.g. RAID0, 1, 3, 5, 10, 30, 50..) it then presents the entire volume as a SINGLE SCSI DRIVE (it has an Ultra-SCSI interface on the back). You can't individually address the drives, as they're not SCSI at all. Also you can't create more than one array. So the add-more-LUNs and JBOD mode wouldn't really work.. --- Orlando Andico <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Mosaic Communications, Inc. _ Philippine Linux Users Group.
