Uhmm, that's not what Cringely is saying. It's not multiple windowing systems for MS-DOS -- if anything, Cringe is suggesting that Microsoft leave the DOS kernel behind, and build everything on the Linux kernel from now on. I guess much like Apple has built on the FreeBSD kernel for MacOS X. IMHO, though, Microsoft should renew its commitment to OS/2 and really cooperate with IBM.
