just two thoughts that crossed my mind:
1) why not an ogg server instead of an mp3 one?
2) please take into consideration the complications that may arise if you are going to create a 'ripped'* music server (copying, sending thru the network). you might get bitten somewhere down the road because of this.
*legally owned tracks or otherwise.
