hi,
no need to create another forum. the lists answers whatever questions is posted, may it be server or desktop related. its just that the first things most linux converts do is explore the networking side of linux which is really great. if you dont like most (networking) topics, do what i do (since i only have 1 pc) and delete them without reading (great if you have a scoring app so they get deleted automatically). lots of people here do not have MIS-related careers, you just dont hear from them as much as from those IT guys.
ciao!

Thanks for your inputs.
I am indeed subscribed to ph-linux-newbie. My problem is that none of the
PLUG lists seem to match my profile:
1. I am not really a newbie having dealt with Linux for a couple of years
now.
2. At this point in my career, I no longer have any interest in matters like
setting up servers and fire-walls and such
3. I avoid using software that I am not licensed to use, so I use Linux as
an alternative to proprietary OS's that run on the x86 platform
4. My main interest is in using Linux as a working platform to do
non-computer related work such as emailing user lists ;)
I suppose, in short, I'm looking for a regular user group similar to PhilMUG (Philippine Macintosh Users Group) very few of whose members are MIS professionals but use their computers for creative work and who share techniques and tips pertaining to a common platform.
