I paid my 2003 real estate taxes in Antipolo City. Like most similar places this time of year, Antipolo's assessor's and treasurer's offices are packed full of people. The queues are terribly long, but (wonder of wonders), the queues move! These offices are computerized, and you get everything as a computer printout on some preprinted form, including the City Official Receipt. I asked the computer guys on the third floor, and I was told that they are running some custom-made application using Informix on SCO, and that their regular backups are done by the contracting company.Nice efficient job they have done.
Now I eagerly wait for their web-based system. They don't have one yet.
