For as long as we think like this the more we will encourage the borders that divide us. But i digress. The issue at hand is linux and open source, AND DEVELOPMENT OF SUCH TECHNOLOGY HAS NO BORDERS. So we should not put up the pretense that we need to differentiate ourselves from the rest because in truth, this is worldwide collaborative effort, and not one country, or corporation has control over it. If you need to rise above the rest, do not put any national flavor in it. Recognition is directly proportional to the amount of quality work you put into a project, and in the end that is the yardstick peers will judge you with - not your nationality nor your race. We do not look up to finland because Linus is Finnish, we look up to Linus, the person, the PROFESSIONAL its because he is a good programmer and project leader. > While the "human race" is still just a biological category and not a > political reality, I wouldn't think for a minute that nationalism is a > shady and emotional concept. Oh yes it is, and millions of people have lost their lives because of it. -- Philippine Linux Users' Group (PLUG) Mailing List [EMAIL PROTECTED] (#PLUG @ irc.free.net.ph) Official Website: http://plug.linux.org.ph Searchable Archives: http://marc.free.net.ph .
