Unfortunately, I think I've erased the True64 partitions on my
AlphaServers so I can't compare Debian GNU/Linux with True64 any
longer. I tried installing OpenBSD on the Alpha, but I think there was
something wrong with the CD-ROM I got... I didn't really want to try
NetBSD and FreeBSD won't run on an Alpha, so I ended up installing
Debian GNU/Linux. Why not the other distributions? RedHat was no
longer updating their Alpha port, and I am really comfy with Debian
GNU/Linux already, so it wasn't a difficult choice for me. I still
have to get some minor things to work, but on the whole it performs
really well.

thank u very much for the info =)

now i know why their staffs are having a lot of headaches
with RH on Alpha.

i guess i'll be torturing them with DSELECT first, hehehehe.
