i think the term "call center agent" is much appropriate.
This is a big BULL---T. Asia's best programmers are the Chinese.
maybe. para sa akin, japs pa rin sa HW programming. at mas magagaling pa rin yun mga taga India.
sa tingin ko mas maagagaling pa rin ang mga pinoy. yun mga pinoy nasa abroad to be exact. so kung bumababa man yun level ng mga programmers dito sa pinas, yan ay dulot ng brain drain.
and besides, yun mga pinoy na magagaling sa programming ay may dugong chinese.
at saka contest lang yan. hindi naman nangagahulugan na nandyan na yun pinakamagagaling na pinoy sa programming. mas mararaming magagaling na programmers sa "underground IT scene". un nga lang, sa unproductive ways nila ginagagamit yun talento nila. para sa kanila, mas gugustuhin pa nila na i-recognized sila ng peers nila sa scene kaysa tumanggap ng mga academic awards.
tsk tsk tsk. if we could only tap those talents. but afaik, some of them are now being employed by an IT security start-up.
