Hi! We currently use a Falcomm GSM modem with the server running SMS Server Tools[1]. Nothing as flashy as Kannel, but after Dido's discussion at Philosc, we were convinced we hit the jackpot. =D
Question, actually just for clarification: with a GSM modem, would there still be a need for an SMSC? We're a government agency, and while a three- or four-digit SMS number would have definitely more impact for the service we envision, right now, I think we would have to contend with limited budgets and such. Another question: are there any existing server apps (open source, of course) available that runs with Kannel? I mean, for HTTP-based messaging, etc.? Thanks. -- Ian Dexter R.
