You do know that this list is not "supposed" to be newbie friendly. And even if we post topics regarding duscussions about linux that sometimes get out of hand (experienced it a while back maybe 2 years ago re: Linux vs. MS) it's all in the spirit of trying to understand Linux in general.
We may choose to discuss mainly technical matters that may get off-topic ranging from personal preferences to inflammatory trolling and flame wars -- but as always it usually pertains to technical issues.
Although the S:N ratio is getting worse than wanted at times, we still answer technical questions and the list is sill meant to be a technical list. We all try to be civil, and sometimes we still make mistakes and our emotions get in the way. But then we're all human so it's all good. ;)
