Ok.  Although it really sounded to me more like he wanted a
way to map an FTP server's contents directly onto a directory
in his filesystem.  ... which as I was musing might make for a
nifty VFS plug-in project.

Uh... if you read my last message carefully, I already said
this:

"Bryan can opt to run an NFS server (or Samba) on the
host that he wants to access remotely to get the files
there to mount and appear as 'local' directories"

... which was to confirm what you said in your first message.
So why are you asking me if I agree with you or not?  :-D
