For your purposes, it probably doesn't ultimately matter much... You aren't running a Data center, you aren't archiving emails, you aren't filing taxes. Get a cheap one, do sensible backups.
Samsung Evo 960 series drives are consistently getting excellent reviews in the blogs for best general purpose SSDs... But they are generally a bit more expensive than what people have been suggesting... Probably lends itself to the point that "Even cheap ones are good enough." For what it's worth... My laptop is currently sporting a 500GB Evo 960 SATA SSD, and it's performing very well.
