LONG LONG LONG time ago, I had an internet service provider setup with modems. (old fashioned modems (2400 baud))
Late one august, we started having problems. late in the day, most days, the modems would get flakey, and we could not keep people on the modems for more than a minute or two at a time. Then people would get kicked off.... Eventually (weeks) , we figured out that it was happening every evening. Right around 8:30 to 9:00 at night... And then we figured out that about that time, the parking lot lights were coming on right around dusk. And one of the lights, attached to the building, right near where we had the modems, was struggling. It would come on, go off,come on, go off, and repeated this for about 2 hours before it would figure out that it could stay on.... We called maintenance and had the light replaced... And .... Our modems started working just fine.
