It works pretty reliably for me in vanilla ubuntu 20.04 and other
distros with working DBUS.
I am not sure what exactly is zubuntu, and could not be bothered to
look it up - perhaps switching to KDE/GNOME would fix that for you.
Oops. I was using phonic spelling. Xubuntu is what I mean. And Xfce is
the default window manager for Xubuntu. I'm happy with it, so I'll live
with the inconvenience.
