I think he means Xubuntu, which many pronounce 'zubuntu.' As for the window manager and desktop environment, yes, I think it is part of Xubuntu and its associated utilities. While poking at this again today I noticed that the Settings Manager > Screensaver included the option to change the time before it comes on. I set it to 300 minutes, and now I no longer have the problem. Of course, this means that my screensaver doesn't come on for 300 minutes, which might be bad for the screen. But I wonder just how useful screensavers are with modern LCD displays. I remember they first appeared when color CRTs first became available. And I remember those old CRTs getting burn-in after a few years. But I retired a still-working LCD a year ago that was six years old, and it had no problems. Do I really need to use a screensaver? _______________________________________________ PLUG: https://pdxlinux.org PLUG mailing list [email protected] http://lists.pdxlinux.org/mailman/listinfo/plug
