Some more (possibly helpful) info:
I was poking around in Yast under the xinetd services section and noticed that smtp is listed as ON, but smtpd is listed as NI. So, I hit the button to turn on smtpd, and it says I must install it first. When I try to install smtpd, I get this message:
"Package smtpd was not installed. The service cannot be edited."

So, I'm not sure what to do at this point.

I'm trying to set up a Postfix server on Suse 9.3. However, for some reason smtp is only visible on the local machine. When I run nmap from the Suse 9.3 machine port 25 is listed. However, when I run nmap on another machine, port 25 does NOT show up.

Any ideas?
