Thanks, Jake. I've decided that cans are for me. Much more convenient in a work environment than buds for me - my very large yet delicate ears must be kept happy, even when someone comes and taps me on the shoulder to get my attention several times a day. I know that I'm sacrificing the reduction of external noise as a result, but I'm hoping that I'm making the correct choice, which comes down in part to personal preference. As a side note, I've taken pretty good care of my hearing, and am able to overhear conversations several cubes away from me. I can't remember the last time I had my hearing checked, but my ears are "better than average". Re: preferences, I am not a big fan of pounding, overdone bass without clarity. I want the music to playback as it was recorded from the venue in which it was originally played. At work I enjoy listening to ambient, electronica, classical, spoken word/podcasts, the occasional pop, and Johnny Cash. I listen to many other styles outside of work, but this purchase will be used mostly at work. -- Lars /* PLUG: http://plug.org, #utah on irc.freenode.net Unsubscribe: http://plug.org/mailman/options/plug Don't fear the penguin. */
