I totally disagree with you. Robert already said this position was listed before the layoffs were planned. Also, if you read the job descriptions of those layed off, they are very different from the description Robert mentioned. Robert said they are hiring internally as well. It seems you didn't really read what he said. This happens in all companies. Some jobs get removed, others added. Often the people in the removed jobs don't fit the new jobs. It's a fact of life.
