Adrian, I am tidying up a new version of demux_real.c I just want to run it against all the BBC streams as not all have the same RealAudio parameters e.g. (WorldService,5Live) and I'll post it probably Friday or Sat night.
It has a fix for the gaps shown (4-6 secs). Also I have seen larger gaps of 25-35 seconds - this results in a depleted cache and Mplayer gets stuck unable to play properly and unable to stop as stream is active. In these circumstance the fix will kill Mplayer by faking an end of stream.
