Right, well...

I've moved all 4 of the dll files mentioned on the x2systems site from
the codecs folder I created following the x2systems instructions to the
codecs folder (beneath the mplayer folder)which was created
automatically when I unzipped the mplayer download.

I've checked there is only one mplayer.exe file.

I ran slimserver and tried to check the rtsp to mp3 conversion in file
types but got the same result as before. Just for completeness I tried
to get the squeezebox to play but got the same rtsp conversion error as
before.

I ran the dos test with -verbose1 in the command line after mplayer and
before -playlist and got "Unknown option on the command line -verbose1".
I also got "To get best performance, recompile mplayer with
--disable-runtime-cpudetection", but I don't know how to do that.

I ran the dos test without -verbose1 in the command line and got the
same message re recompiling but no errors and no music.
