I wasn't trying to be prescriptive to Mac users. I was just show that the mplayer.sh can made to detect the MAC and act differently if necessary as this was one of the suggested possible solutions.
It looks like a number of things are necessary. 1. The Mac install instructions need to be updated as mplayer has changed (i.e no need for codecs) and also a specific version of mplayer should be used as older one don't work. 2. The install instruction could be more definitive about where to install mplayer such as /usr/local/bin rather than give a choice. This would suit less experienced user who want clarity rather than leaving it to their discretion. 3. Update mplayer.sh in line with the updated Mac instructions AND for all Linux|Unix OSs (i.e. not just Mac) produce an error message in the log testing to ensure that mplayer can be found. -- bpa ------------------------------------------------------------------------ bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=22476 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
