> So you've been using SlimCD from USB? Not yet but I would like ! I like the idea to have only a HDD with the music inside and the OS separated on a solid-state device. With SlimCD, you have already made 99% of the work to build a ready-to-use linux slimserver. I hope I will be able to make a system simple as: 1-take a motherboard and your HDD with your music 2-plug the USBpendrive 3-listen your music on your squeezebox > When I started work on the > SlimCD I did it once, just to learn that _none_ of the 4 computers in > the > household were able to boot from USB stick... I cannot say it is recent hardware, but I can boot on USB and I have it running fanless (with a modified heatsink). It is installed in an hoojum Cubit 3 case and I will try to remove the fan case in a next future (or to regulate it) even if it is not noisy at all. -- Mathiou ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mathiou's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4555 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=24508 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
