Hiya!

I got my Squeezebox a couple of days ago, which makes me the proverbial
n00b. It's therefore quite possible someone has already created a plugin
which solves my problem, but I didn't find one while browsing the list.

So, here's the deal. I've got 600+ gigabytes of audio files on a
Buffalo Terastation NAS. I'd hazard a guess that 60% of them are tagged
which means I'm kinda SOL when it comes to adding tracks that aren't
tagged properly to SlimServer playlist, right? I mean, browsing the
Music Folder takes almost a minute per page. *sigh*

To make matters worse, SlimServer doesn't even find all the files. I
have no idea why. I deleted all .m3u's from the NAS, disabled library
statistics and did a couple of re-scans (45 minutes each, btw), but no
luck.

Anyhoo, my request is for a simple and quick way to add audio files
that are not in SlimServer's database to the playlist (and why not to
the database as well!) from Windows Explorer (desktop, not the
browser).

I can think of a couple of ways to approach this:

1) context menu selection - right-click a directory or an audio file,
and you get a choice "add to SlimServer playlist". You know, like you
can do with WinAmp, for example.

2) "LAMEdrop-style" - an application which you can drag&drop files
into, which then adds those files to SlimServer's playlist.

Yeah, I know: why not simply tag those files properly, then do a
re-scan? Well, like I said, SlimServer doesn't find all the audio files
on the NAS. Also, I'm not too keen on tagging some 10,000+ files, many
of which require manual tweaking for proper tagging.

What do you think? Would such an application be doable?

thanks,
