Something about your setup must be really particular. I'd suggest you uninstall all Spotify related stuff from your installation and start over. Do not install any of the other Spotify plugins. Just Spotty. Make sure all those format options are enabled. Enable INFO logging for player.source. Try again and upload your server.log file.
