Just read Michael's first post in this thread: The connect feature is not fully implemented yet. As of now, playback is only supported for SB devices thru LMS. It's not sure whether the full connect feature will ever become supported.
Nochmal auf deutsch: Steht alles auf im ersten Post dieses Threads: Spotify Connect ist (noch) nicht vollständig implementiert. Derzeit funktioniert die Wiedergabe auf den Squeezeboxen nur mit LMS. Es ist nicht sicher, ob die vollständige Connect-Funktionalität jemals unterstützt werden eird.
