If there's any
speculation as to why Spotify/Logitech would do this, the answer is
always: follow the money.

To be fair: I was given resources to work on a new firmware. But a.) I didn't manage to build a single stupid firmware image (due to broken dependencies, outdated resources etc.) and b.) after considering libspotify deprecated for several years, Spotify only gave us about 3-4 months from at long last presenting a replacement library to shutdown. And you probably remember how little resources there are when a team has to push out the next great product the day before yesterday :-).

But! Spotify App is dead! Long Live Spotty!
